Advancing Communication Research, Production and Publication in the Age of AI.
The CCMCR is a proactive, responsive, and creative non-profit, non-partisan organisation based in Jamaica, with members and affiliates spanning the wider Caribbean region. We promote collective and individual academic research, scholarly publication, and creative productions that reflect the realities and aspirations of our people.
To advance, amplify, and empower Caribbean voices in media and communication research — at home and on the world stage.
Create and Publish Original, Innovative, Scholarly and Ethical content exploring media, technology, culture, and communication within the Caribbean context.
Provide leadership, mentorship, and growth opportunities for emerging Caribbean research scholars, creatives, and graduate students.
Amplify critical communication research and productions at community, national, regional, and global levels for the benefit of society.
Drawing membership from a diverse pool of collaborating scholars across Caribbean tertiary institutions, the Consortium maintains a strictly equitable, non-discriminatory environment.
Current CCMCR membership includes researchers from The University of the West Indies (UWI) CARIMAC, Northern Caribbean University (NCU), University of Technology, Jamaica (UTECH); Mico University College (The MICO). The Consortium does not speak on behalf of any of these institutions.
Research-active scholars holding at least an M.A. / M.Sc. / MFA degree or creative equivalent.
Graduate students or research-active practitioners working toward postgraduate qualifications.
Accredited tertiary institutions, universities, or media departments dedicated to academic research, production and publication.
The CCMCR has no official logo yet and we would rather discover it than dictate it. Ahead of our Inaugural Conference in November 2026, we invite designers, students, and creatives across the Caribbean to submit an original mark that will become the lasting face of the Consortium.
A strong mark should convey:
Lasting credit as the creator of the official CCMCR identity, complimentary registration to the Inaugural Conference, one year regular/associate membership, and a certificate of recognition presented on stage.
